House MM
The client’s request was to have a “Peruvian house.” It’s a desire that comes with several challenges: the first, defining the features that give a space its identity; the main one, questioning what it means to be Peruvian—an inquiry that leads down many paths and offers many answers. For this country house in Huampaní, the studio moved away from expected colonial references or adaptations of Spanish villas. Instead, it drew inspiration from the solid structures of pre-Columbian architecture.
